‘Having ‘dabbled’ in photography since age 14 with film cameras and now in my late sixties, I felt somewhat offside in the digital camera age & had almost lost interest in the hobby. I saw a course advertised with BSOP and spoke to Kam who advised I commence with Phase 1 (the starter). Despite initial misgivings at having to start at the beginning, I soon realised that I had forgotten (or never knew) a lot of the technical stuff as from the first lesson we were on a steep learning curve – no time to get bored and with Kam’s instructions ringing in our ears “Turn off flash….no more auto”!
I certainly know a heck of a lot more than I did at the beginning and it has awakened my interest in taking photographs, increased my confidence levels and encouraged me to tackle subjects that previously I would not have contemplated...
Nigel Davis - Course 1 & 2 Student
‘I have just completed the level 1 course run by Kam and now feel much more confident in the use of my camera. I have much more background knowledge of photography and take great pride in not having to just ‘point and press’. The course is good fun and covers not only how to use your camera but also how to make the best of your photographs, using Photoshop. Kam is a patient tutor and explains everything thoroughly. He even taught us how to take photos using a pin-hole camera.
My camera used to only come out on holidays and special occasions but I find myself using it much more nowadays. It is always handy, just in case I see something I want to capture quickly. Don’t get me wrong, I will never be a David Bailey, but I am really looking forward to learning, even more, when I continue with Level 2′.
Sue Stealey - Course 1 & 2 Student
My grateful and sincere thanks to you for your excellent guidance and coaching. I must say every bit of your instruction has been so useful in understanding the techniques of the art of photography.
I have a long way to go as I am a total novice with little understanding and you have given me the encouragement to learn more. The time you have spent teaching me has been worth it and I would like to continue to be guided by you. There is no doubt you are an excellent and patient tutor.
Thank you for showing me how to tweak and adjust photos on photoshop. For the first time I saw it done in practice and it made all the difference to my photos.
